Happy holidays!! I am so grateful for this community of subscribers. It’s incomprehensible that this blog started just a few months ago with a handful of subscribers who were all family and friends. We now have over 150 subscribers! That’s three times the number of people who lived in my little village in Connecticut when I was growing up!
Well 2024 was quite a ride. It was never a better time for us to enjoy our nomadic lives. We traveled to 13 countries over 3 continents, explored 3 new islands, slept in over 50 beds, took 2 repositioning cruises, and got to see loads of family and old friends, while making new friends in unexpected places. We know this life isn’t for everyone, but we do know it is right for us. We get how lucky and privileged we are.
Buenos Aires just has too many fun things to see and do and the weather is too nice to sit inside writing right now! But I don’t think this year would be quite complete without a recounting of some of our adventures. If we can help share any information on any of the places we’ve traveled to this year, please let me know.
Here are a few things we saw along the way in 2024:
January - Mexico: San Miguel de Allende, Queretaro (knee replacement surgery - you don’t want to see those photos!)
February - Mexico: Oaxaca, Guanajuato
March - US: Charleston and Lake Greenwood, South Carolina
April - Bermuda, Portugal: Azores, Lisbon, Porto
May - Spain: Malaga, Grenada, Andalucía countryside, France: Bordeaux, Gasques, Montalban, Confolens, Cognac, UK: London
June - The Netherlands: camping along the coast, France: Brittany, Bordeaux, Bayonne
July - Spain: Bilbao & Madrid (no photos - we had Covid the whole time!), Mexico: Mexico City
August & September - Mexico: San Miguel de Allende
October - Mexico: Guadalajara, Ajijic, Patzcuaro
November - Mexico: Cancun, St Kitts & Nevis, Brazil: Forteleza, Rio; Uruguay: Montevideo
December - Argentina: Buenos Aires
Wishing you all a peaceful, joyful, and healthy holiday season. See you in 2025!
That's a lotta places! Glad you made the most of each except for Madrid. Alas. Our big fat loss. Hope 2025 is just as remarkable.
Fabulous pictures! We've been to a few of those places, but not all. You're giving me ideas! Happy New Year!
