Wow, this was really helpful information. I'll have to try this trick sometime. My son has taken advantage of this opportunity and spent a couple of days in Iceland.
The Panama stopover sounds like lots of fun and sooooooooooo exciting to see the records of your first cousin once removed. Did you know where to go to find information on him? I see the family resemblence :)
Thanks Andrea! Wait until you see the 45 programs I found with more options! In Panama, the tour guide for our canal tour tipped me off on the little library that holds all of the worker’s records. I don’t think I ever would have found it without him!
Such a good idea! We haven't done this lately but when we were first traveling to Cancun from San Francisco, the airline changed planes in New Orleans, landing 4pm. We asked if we could jump on the 10am the next day for the last hour's flight into CUN. Bingo - yes! It was a marriage made in heaven. As we eventually moved to the Yucatán coast south of Cancun, we flew frequently and got to know that fair southern city very well--we'd eat our way through NOLA, and next morning, hop onto the Cancun flight, bright and bushy-tailed. It's a two-fer, all the way!

I did a stepover in Istanbul with Turkish Airlines
We have that one on our list to try next time we have an opportunity to fly Turkish Airways!
Wow, what a great idea!
Thanks, Cindy!

Thanks Jeanine! You hacked your own stopover!
Funny! I loved reading about your Panama City ‘layover.’ Cool country and ciudad.
