Now I’m wondering how many travel blogs that I follow have been written by ChatGPT. Your itinerary help promise, but I think you’re right; stick to word of mouth, guide books and blogs you trust. BTW, my daughter lived in Colonia Americana for over a year and when we visited we stayed at La Perla near El Expiatorio. Amazing hosts, beautiful interiors, and easy to walk to many out of the way places. I had heard they also opened a wine bar but not sure if it’s still open.
Right? I was a bit shocked at how well written ChatGPT’s blog was. And how cool for your daughter! I hope she had a great time - this is our third trip and we are still loving it. And your place sounds great - I’ll put it on the list to check out next time!
You had me laughing pretty hard. What an adventure with a misinformed tour guide. That said you provided some great ideas for our Christmas trip to Guadalajara. I'm so glad you're there scouting around. Your tips will be enormously valuable for our group of eleven.
On another note in addition to the tourist stuff, I really enjoyed the voice, tone, and sense of humor in this and other posts. Yes, who does make up a monument to mothers??!! Come on! And it's a fair warning that we cannot entrust ourselves to Chat GPT just yet. Or ever, I hope, though I look forward to its evolution.
Thank you soooo much! We are happy to be your scouts! And thank you for your feedback on my writing. I am still trying to shake my old "government speak" writing style thanks to 30 years of writing proposals to the USG. ChatGPT made it easy to poke fun at it's suggestions and I'm glad our mirth was evident! BTW, I just uploaded an audio file read by AI voices. If you get a chance to listen to it, I would love your feedback!
I just love the concept of charging ChatGPT with the task of planning for you, and then telling us what 'actually' happened. Super fun, funny and disappointing in terms of it's ability to be accurate! Would be cool to try again in 6 months. Did you ever find out any more about the monument for mothers? It couldn't be that they TOTALLY made it up, could it?
Thanks Kara! You are right about trying again down the road. We’ve got lots of new places coming up to try. And YES - ChatGPT not only TOTALLY made it up, but was adamant that it was there. Crazy!
Love this idea of validating what chatGPT told you was actually there but turned out not to be. Have you tried Layla? I have a video about it on my YouTube channel. I found that to be pretty good when I was in Tokyo - but it still made some errors. And yes, it does make you wonder how many blogs are written by chatGPT and similar and haven't been through such a validation like you did.
Thanks Sarb! I haven’t tried Layla, but now I will! Thanks for the tip! And just put your video in our queue to watch tonight. We are really enjoying your videos!
Not that thrilled with the voice. 🤨
Thanks - I agree it’s kind of weird. But I wanted to test it out and see if it was better than me reading it aloud.
I love to hear the tone and cadence of those I listen to.

Looking forward to the upcoming posts.
Santo Coyote is fantastic for larger groups. You will love it.

That’s so kind of you, thank you!
